Marvan Atapattu - Muppets

Atapattu's take on why the Sri Lankan team to Oz is just so so bad:

While this take on Sri Lankan cricket may sound extreme, it unfortunately is more plausable than you think. Corruption is rife in Sri Lanka and the selection of the cricket team is a heavily political process. Hopefully this will stir things up for the better for the Sri Lankan team in future.

Finally a subcontinent cricketer who is willing to speak their mind!

It has often been said that the worse thing to happen to Sri Lankan cricket was to win the 1996 World Cup. It brought with it everyone who wanted a piece of the action, both good and bad.

Let's hope the 2nd test brings a tighter result.

True, but I can't imagine, way in which he spoke his mind, is the best for him or his family.

The cricket selectors are usually people of influence (which is how they get the job in the first place) and so I can think that calling them "muppets" (why not puppets I ask you!) and "jokers" will leave them with a warm fuzzy!

So hopefully he won't be in any life-threatening trouble when he gets back home!
